America to England & back again...

“In a sense it’s the coming back, the return, which gives meaning to the going forth. We really don’t know where we have been until we come back to where we were - only where we were may not be as it was because of who we have become, which after all, is why we left."

This quote pretty much describes my journey to England and now back to America again.  In coming here, there were specific things that I was longing for more of and hoping that God would show me and reveal within me.  Now that my time is coming to a close here I can sit back and reflect on all the ways which I have seen more of God and see the ways He has grown me and therefore, who I have become truly does effect my journey back.

As I return to the states, I sense a different approach and position to my place in the good ole US of A.  Before I might refer to it as my homeland, the place where I was born, the place I grew up and came to know how the world works and my place within it, etc...  Yet now as I return there's a greater call and responsibility that I feel.  It's one of calling and destiny that I can't deny.  I know it was only in the going away and getting distance that God was able to birth a hope and a longing upon my heart for the potential of what He wants to do in America and the potential He sees over that land.

From the beginning America was founded on Christian principles and foundations and now God is calling us back to these truths.  He is lifting the canvas over our country and exposing the things that were once in the darkness.  The Holy Spirit is about to break loose and dwell within His people again.  (So if you have issues with the Holy Spirit, I would encourage you to read the Bible on that one!)  There is a hope that is birthing within so many, a longing for more which can only be quenched by the One who allowed it to be there in the first place.

You only have to watch the recent Superman movie, Man of Steel to realize that the story of the Gospel is crying out from every sphere of society - we need a Savior - we need a Hope.  Arise, Arise is what I keep hearing the Holy Spirit say.   It's time for us to arise and not settle for a life that is less than.  Jesus came that we might have life and have it abundantly.  I am tired of being bored, I am tired of settling, I am tired of living for me.  I am tired.  Can anyone else relate? Yet, this continual tired, less than state isn't what Jesus intended.

Arise, Arise is what I speak and declare today - over myself and over whoever is reading this (hopefully more than just my Mom:), over the states, over this world.

Arise, Arise for the seasons are changing and you don't want to be in winter clothes when spring is here!

Day Out in Durham!

Recently someone shared with me this picture they felt like the Lord had given them for me!

I see you being stood on the edge of a wood and all the leaves are still on the trees so you can’t see through the wood but Autumn is coming and that’s when leaves fall off.  With this change in season you will be able to see more clearly what's on the other side of the wood.

When I heard it I thought, Yep that's right where I am at.

This past week I attended a conference in Durham and CONFESSION - I skipped out on the small group session I was to attend and took a bit of an afternoon stroll :) and look at the view I stumbled upon! I was instantly reminded of the "word" my friend had given me!

In that moment I was able to STOP and remind myself that God is good and oh so very faithful.  This season I am in will come to end and God will have new and amazing things for me.  But my main reflection in it all was this...

I don't want to miss out on any of the beauty, good, love, joy, and peace that the Lord has for me right NOW.  I am an apostle which means I am usually always thinking about the future, and what could be.  But I don't want to live in a future that isn't promised, but would rather live in the present that's right in front of me.  So doing my best to do just that!

All to say, I am really thankful I didn't go to my small group time!

And here are some more lovely views from the bridge that I got to enjoy!

Maybe my favorite view.  This was great to witness!

3 Very Important Words

Love     Unity     Honor

In the past 6 months, I can't seem to get these 3 words out of my head as I know they are deep foundations God is putting in my heart.  I also know I have a ways to go in regards to having them be the overflow of my heart and life BUT you have to start somewhere.  Right?!

So, in an attempt to engage with YOU, my audience (hopefully I find out that more than my mom follows me)  I would LOVE to hear your thoughts, comments, experiences (good/bad) with these 3 words.

Email me, text me, FB message me, I will take whatever I can get and anxiously await whatever thoughts are brewing in your head.

Don't be shy and don't hold back!
