Elise

One of my favorite things about my job is getting to meet with students one on one. This past semester I have gotten the privilege of meeting with a sophomore named Elise.

It's been amazing to see the transformation in her life these past couple of weeks. God is definitey at work as she continues to take steps towards following Christ.

It's been sweet getting to answer (or attempt to answer) all of her questions week after week! For the first time she is owning her faith and trying to understand what it really means to follow Jesus and live a life that's honoring to God.

Here are we are Capanna - our typical meeting place.

Thankfully we have shared loved for coffee!

I am often giving her "homework" assignments to do.

For example my last "assignments" were - learn Greek, memorize Romans, and explain the trinity in one sentence - just the basics:)!

AND don't let this face fool you - she loves it:)!

At Capanna again with some other ladies! She's on the very right.

Last week at Salt Company we went on a friend hunt because she's realizing she has no quality friends who were encouraging her in her faith.

I think she got 7 different numbers that night! BOOYAH!

Please continue to pray for Elise! She's making big life changes right now and needs God strength and comfort as she goes through some hard decisions! Can't wait to share with you in the future how God continues to grow her!

My Connection Group

Each Sunday I get the privilege of leading some of the post-college ladies of Veritas! There are 11 total in our group! Currently, we are doing a more topical approach or a better explanation might be - whatever Mikaela feels like doing! :)

Here we are meeting for a mid-week coffee break!
Yep, we hang out outside of Conn. Group - what a great leader I am! :)

This group is one of the many reasons why I love my job! It's a pure joy getting to meet as a big group each week and getting to know them more one on one throughout the week!

They will all get major points in Heaven for allowing me to take their pictures without warning and for putting up with me each week! :)

Please be praying that God would bless our group and work powerfully in each of our lives!
If you want to be praying by name they are:
Kayla, Teryn, Amy, Annie, Benita, Liz, Emily, Joann, Kelley, Patty, and Lindsey!

AND GOLLY do we have fun?! I mean just look at those faces!

Dear My Faithful Supporters:

This blog is for YOU! It is my attempt to keep you updated on what God is doing in Iowa City!

I am SO grateful for your support and prayers and want to do the best I can to make you feel a part of the work He is doing here because YOU ARE!

I named this blog Front Lines because that’s where I feel like I am – on the Front Lines of ministry. As cheesy as that title is - it is so true and I can't wait to share all the stories I hear about and see each day!

I will do my best to post lots of pictures with my posts because we all know that's what makes a truly great blog! I thought I would start with pictures of my beloved staff team! They are amazing and can't imagine doing ministry without them! They will probably each get their own post in the days to come, but for now here's a brief introduction!

The Veritas Staff Team - aren't we pretty!?

Lance Allgood - Utility Man

Me - What don't I do?!

Jeff Thune - Theologian (He's in seminary) :)

Mark Arant - Our Fearless Leader

Carrie Clement - All things college women

Clint Robinson - Da' Music Guy

Carrie & I snowboarding in Colorado!

In January we took a group of students to the mountains for some true relationship bonding!

YEP! This is my "job"! :)

I promise we took our Bibles!

You can ask some really deep questions in a 14 hour car ride - knowing they have no where to escape!

This is a picture Mark Arant just sent me from his Iphone.

Mark and his wife, Leatha took a much needed break to Florida! Thanks Goodman's for the hook-up!

Our staff knows how to work hard and play hard - what can I say?!
